RADIO AUTHORITY ISSUES LICENSE TO SCHOOL RADIO STATION

Silver FM, the school radio station run by Bushey Hall School of London Road, Bushey (0181 950 9502) is proud to announce that for the third year running it has been awarded a broadcast license by the Radio Authority, allowing the pupils, friends and staff of the school to broadcast to the community of South Herts for three and a half weeks during the summer on 87.7 FM

The station, which prides itself on being a commercial radio station run by a school, kicks off its broadcasts on 24th June 1998 at 1pm with a celebrity opening ceremony.

This year, as last, the radio station will be run to raise money for the Children's Out Patients Department at Watford General Hospital, hence the station's motto of "Kids Raising Money for Kids".

Andy Hubble, Press Officer for Silver FM said "We're thrilled at the news that our license application has been accepted once more, and we can't wait to bounce back on the air serving our local communities. The station is going to be bigger than ever before and rehearsals have been underway for several weeks to make sure Silver FM 1998 is the best yet".

The Silver FM web site has been expanded for 1998, and can be visited at http://www.silverfm.co.uk

Further details will be released in a Press Release two weeks before launch
